Francisco Rodas Detained in Deadly Hit-and-Run Motorcycle Crash in Fallbrook

 
FALLBROOK, CA (November 14, 2022) — Francisco Esteban Rodas faces charges in a fatal hit-and-run motorcycle accident on Mission Road near La Canada Road.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol Oceanside Area Office, the fatal motorcycle crash happened around 5:45 p.m. on Saturday. Under unclear conditions, 33-year-old Rodas pulled into the intersection at westbound La Canada Road and South Mission Road.
 
Subsequently, a 32-year-old from Fallbrook operating a black Harley-Davidson motorcycle northbound on South Mission Road collided with Rodas’ westbound Toyota T-100 pickup. The impact sent the motorcycle crashing into a grey Model S Tesla while the Toyota pickup fled the scene.
 
Soon after, CHP officers, San Diego County Sheriff’s Office and Fallbrook fire paramedics reached the scene. They pronounced the motorcyclist deceased at the scene moments later. Authorities have yet to release the victim’s name.
 
No other injuries were reported.
 
With the Tesla driver’s help, police found Rodas at his home and arrested and booked him into Vista Detention Facility, where he faces DUI, hit and run and other charges.
