POTRERO, CA (March 2, 2023) — Ellis Woodall died in a motorcycle crash on Highway 94 near Bell Valley Truck Trail.
 
According to the San Diego County Medical Examiner’s Office, the fatal motorcycle crash happened around 8:00 p.m. on February 19. Ellis James Woodall reportedly struck a van in front of him as the van slowed down to make a U-turn into the eastbound lanes of Bell Valley Truck Trail. The impact hurled the 37-year-old off the Kawasaki, pinning him underneath the van.
 
The unidentified driver pulled over and called authorities. Upon arrival, First Responders pronounced the Jacumba Hot Springs man deceased due to obvious trauma.
 
At this time, authorities do not have the leading cause of the accident or who was at fault. However, an investigation into the crash should reveal more details.
