Rollover Crash on Highway 99 in Chico Kills Two Palermo Women

 
CHICO, CA (February 20, 2025) – Elizabeth Egger and Taylor Elliott were killed in rollover accident in Chico late Saturday evening on February 15.
 
The fatal accident happened around 10:48 p.m. on Highway 99, just north of Shippee Road. According to the California Highway Patrol, a white GMC Sierra was traveling southbound on the highway when for unknown reasons, it veered off the roadway, struck a wire fence and steel fence posts, and overturned.
 
Egger and Elliott were occupants of the car. One of them was ejected during the crash and died at the scene. The other died at Enloe Medical Center. Egger was 25 and Elliott was 28. Both were Palermo residents, according to Butte County Sheriff’s Office.
 
Neither of them was wearing a safety restraint at the time of the crash.
 
The exact cause of the crash is still under investigation. Alcohol is considered as a potential factor in the crash, the CHP said.
