1 Dies After Train Strikes Vehicle on Armstrong Road in Lodi

 
LODI, CA (May 21, 2024) — A driver died after a train hit a car on Armstrong Road near Pearson Road.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal accident happened around 6:00 p.m. in San Joaquin County. In an attempt to beat an oncoming Union Pacific train, the driver of a white Honda heading westbound navigated around the crossing arms. Subsequently, the oncoming southbound train collided with the white Honda.
 
Shortly after, paramedics arrived to find the Honda overturned on its side. Its driver passed away at the scene.
 
As for the crew members on board the train, no one reported any injuries, per Union Pacific.
 
At this time, authorities have not released the victim’s name or other details of this crash.
