Driver Killed in Car Accident on 15 Freeway [Escondido, CA]

Driver Sustained Fatal Injuries in Car Crash on 15 Freeway near Deer Springs Road

 
ESCONDIDO, CA (October 18, 2022) — A 62-year-old driver died in a car accident on the 15 Freeway at around 2:16 p.m. on Saturday, October 15.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident took place on the northbound 15 Freeway, south of Deer Springs Road.

CHP said another vehicle that traveled at a high rate of speed rear-ended the victim’s vehicle when it lost control. Then the victim’s vehicle rolled over and landed on top of a center median divider on the freeway.
 
The impact ejected the driver who is the only occupant of the hit vehicle. First responders arrived at the area and pronounced him dead at the scene.
 
There are no reports of other injuries.
