GRIDLEY, CA (January 13, 2023) — A driver was injured after a train hit a car on Sycamore Street near Virginia Street.
 
According to CAL-FIRE Butte unit, the accident happened Wednesday night around 10:45 p.m. For unknown reasons, a Union Pacific train struck an SUV. Soon after, paramedics arrived and extricated the driver from the vehicle and took him to a hospital where he remains in critical condition.
 
The crew on the southbound train reported no injuries, fortunately.
