ACTON, CA (February 12, 2025) — A driver was injured after a Metrolink train crashed into a car on Bootlegger Canyon Road near Soledad Canyon Road on Tuesday.
 
The California Highway Patrol responded to a crash report from 6:45 a.m. Authorities learned that a driver heading westbound at about 10 miles per hour failed to stop at a railroad crossing. Subsequently, the vehicle was hit by an oncoming Metrolink train before overturning.
 
Following the crash, the driver who suffered a minor injury said he did not see the lights or the train approaching before entering the tracks.
 
Following the incident, officials suspended the train service until 8:35 a.m.
 
Be especially cautious near railroad tracks and watch and listen for their lights and horns which signal their presence. Proceed with caution and care when driving over railroad crossings.
