62-Year-Old Donna Sulu Dies after Two-Vehicle Crash on Highway 178 near Lake Isabella Boulevard
KERN COUNTY, CA (February 20, 2025) – Authorities identified 62-year-old Donna Lynn Sulu of Lake Isabella as the victim killed in a semi-truck crash on Highway 178, Tuesday afternoon.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident happened on February 18, at about 12:15 p.m. An eastbound Subaru and a westbound 2021 International semi-truck collided near Lake Isabella Boulevard. Investigators believe that Sulu was unable to safely negotiate the roadway curve and traveled off the roadway and struck roadway signs.
Emergency crews transported Sulu to Kern Valley Hospital, where she later died.
Meanwhile, the driver of the semi-truck reported pain to his back. The identity of the semi-truck driver was not immediately released.
CHP ruled out drugs and alcohol as factors in the fatal accident. Officers will release additional information once it becomes available.
