Dalton Towery-Britt Killed, Woman Injured after Car Crashes onto Train Tracks at Pittsburg/Bay Point BART Station
EAST BAY, CA (January 29, 2025) – Authorities identified 33-year-old Dalton Towery-Britt of Antioch as the victim killed after a car crashed onto BART tracks along Highway 4, early Thursday morning.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident happened on January 23, at about 3:30 a.m. For reasons still under investigation, an eastbound BMW X5 went across traffic lanes, left the roadway, and crashed through barriers.
Then, the vehicle hit the BART tracks near the Pittsburg/Baypoint station.
Emergency crews pronounced Towey-Britt dead at the scene.
Meanwhile, another occupant suffered minor injuries and is expected to make full recovery soon.
Officers did not disclose which of the victims was the driver.
