Fiery Crash Involving Sedan and Commercial Truck on 405 Freeway in Culver City Leaves Two People Dead

 
CULVER CITY, CA (June 3, 2024) – Clifton Gore Jr. was among two people who died in a fiery accident in Culver City early Friday morning on May 31.
 
The fatal accident happened just after 2:00 a.m. on 405 Freeway near National Boulevard. According to the California Highway Patrol, a Toyota Prius and a commercial truck collided, causing the Prius to burst into flames.
 
Los Angeles Fire Department crews responded and worked quickly to put out the fire.
 
Sadly, a man and woman both died at the scene.
 
On Saturday, the Los Angeles Department of Medical Examiner identified the man as 74-year-old Clifton Gore Jr. The woman has not yet been identified.
 
The CHP issued a SigAlert in the area, closing all northbound lanes of the freeway for several hours while they investigated the crash.
 
At this time, the cause of the crash and factors involved remain under investigation.
