Motorcyclist Dies after Crash with Vehicle near Jackson and Grand Streets

 
HAYWARD, CA (April 3, 2024) – Christopher DaSilva was killed in a motorcycle accident in Hayward Monday night on April 1.
 
The fatal accident happened shortly after 6:00 p.m. near Jackson Street and Grand Street. According to the Hayward Police Department, DaSilva was riding his motorcycle when he collided with a vehicle, driven by a 55-year-old man.
 
The impact caused DaSilva fatal injuries and he died at the scene. He was 31 years old of San Leandro.
 
Meanwhile, the driver of the other vehicle was unharmed.
 
A GoFundMe account created on behalf of DaSilva’s family to raise money for his funeral had raised more than $2,000 as of Wednesday morning.
 
Police said they have not ruled out alcohol or drug use as a possible cause for the crash. Further investigation is underway. They asked witnesses of the crash to contact them at 510-293-7066.
