Chloe Proctor Hospitalized, Mark Hale Unharmed in Electric Bicycle Accident on Talmage Road near Sanford Ranch Road
UKIAH, CA (April 4, 2024) — Chloe Proctor suffered major injuries in a bicycle crash on Talmage Road near Sanford Ranch Road.
According to a California Highway Patrol collision report, the two-vehicle crash happened around 4:43 p.m. on March 31. For an unknown reason, 20-year-old Proctor failed to stop at the Sanford Ranch Road and Talmage Road stop sign. Subsequently, she proceeded and her electric bike collided with a Cadillac Escalade driver moving at about 35 miles per hour, despite the driver’s attempt to avoid hitting her.
Soon after, Mark Hale — the 71-year-old driver — contacted 911, and Ukiah Valley Fire Authority took Proctor to Santa Rosa Memorial with major injuries.
At this time, police did not confirm why Proctor did not stop. However, they ruled out impairment. If anyone has additional information on this case, please call the CHP.
Keep in mind bicycle safety tips and rules of the road to prevent a traffic accident. Remember, many accidents could be avoided if everyone follows the rules and watches out for each other. Stop at stop signs, make room for others and limit distractions.
