Chad Katzakian Hospitalized, Man Killed, Double Motorcycle Accident on Southworth Road near White Owl Drive

 
WALLACE, CA (April 17, 2023) — Chad Katzakian suffered major injuries, and another man died after their motorcycles crashed on Southworth Road near White Owl Drive.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the double motorcycle accident happened around 6:00 p.m. Sunday in Calaveras County. For an unknown reason, a 66-year-old man from Lodi went off the east shoulder of Southworth Road at an unknown speed. Subsequently, his southbound 2004 Harley-Davidson plowed into a double barbed wire fence before his motorcycle stopped in a field.
 
Meanwhile, 62-year-old Katzakian was trailing behind the first motorcycle in a 2000 Harley-Davidson Road King. He also crashed into the field around the same time.
 
Tragically, the first rider suffered fatal injuries in the accident while Katzakian suffered major injuries.
 
Arriving authorities and paramedics requested a helicopter to airlift Katzakian to Memorial Medical Center in Modesto. In the investigation, officers learned that DUI played a part and arrested Katzakian before paramedics airlifted him.
 
It’s unclear if the fatal victim had been impaired at the time of the accident. However, officials will release the crash details and the fatal victim’s name once they notify family members.
