40-Year-Old Cesar Abarca Carillo Identified as Construction Worker Killed in Accident on Morena Boulevard

BAY PARK, CA (October 31, 2024) – Authorities identified 40-year-old Cesar Abarca Carillo of San Diego as the construction worker killed in an accident on Morena Boulevard, Sunday evening.

According to the San Diego Police Department, the incident happened on October 27, at about 9:30 p.m. For reasons still under investigation, Carillo was struck by an excavator at the construction site in the 1900 block of Morena Boulevard.

Emergency crews rushed the victim to Sharp Memorial Hospital, where he later died.

The San Diego police and the California Department of Industrial Relations will investigate the fatal accident. Authorities will release additional information once it becomes available.
