DUI Crash in Redondo Beach Leaves 48-Year-Old Woman Dead
REDONDO BEACH, CA (September 23, 2023) – Cassandra Basgall was killed in a suspected DUI crash in Redondo Beach Monday evening on September 18.
The fatal crash happened at Rindge Lane and Artesia Boulevard. According to the Redondo Beach Police Department, two vehicles collided at the intersection.
Basgall, a 48-year-old Torrance resident, was the driver of one of the vehicles. She died at the scene.
The other driver was taken to a hospital and accused of driving while impaired.
Police said the other motorist’s identity was being withheld due to the person’s current medical condition and the ongoing status of the investigation by the department’s Traffic Unit. They said the driver could be facing charges of felony vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated.
