Brooke Buchanan Arrested for DUI after Accident on Highway 4 in Calaveras County
CALAVERAS COUNTY, CA (April 22, 2021) – Police arrested Brooke Buchanan following a DUI accident on Highway 4 on April 17.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened near Calaveras Big Trees State Park around 10:00 AM.
Based on a report, Brooke Buchanan, 21, of Merced, was driving on the highway when her 2006 Honda Civic crossed over the center line. Subsequently, it collided with a 2004 Ford F-250 head-on.
As a result, Buchanan suffered major injuries in the incident. Immediately, crews airlifted her to Doctors Medical Center in Modesto for treatment. In addition, crews also sent her passenger, Dominic Appleby, 21, of Merced, to Adventist Health Sonora with moderate injuries. Also, the Ford driver, Thomas Sullivan, 61, of Dorrington had minor injuries.
In the end, officials placed Buchanan under arrest for DUI causing injury. As of now, an investigation is ongoing.
