Car Crashes into Tree on Highway 104 in Sacramento County Killing Teen Driver and Injuring Passenger
SACRAMENTO COUNTY, CA (February 25, 2025) – Brennan Martin Mendoza died in a car accident in the Herald area of Sacramento County Sunday evening on February 23.
The fatal accident happened just after 7:00 p.m. on Highway 104 at Alta Mesa Road. According to the California Highway Patrol, Mendoza was driving a vehicle when he crashed into a tree.
The impact caused Mendoza major injuries. He was rushed to a hospital, where he later died. He was a 16-year-old Lodi resident, according to the Sacramento County Coroner’s Office.
A passenger in the car suffered a cut and was also taken to a hospital.
Mendoza’s loved ones created a GoFundMe for his funeral expenses. In it, they wrote he attended Lodi High School and was going to turn 17 on March 5.
It is unclear if drugs or alcohol played a factor in the crash. Further investigation is underway.
