Bicyclists Dies after Struck by Vehicle on Mariposa Road in Stockton

 
STOCKTON (August 12, 2024) – A bicyclist was killed in a traffic accident at Mariposa Road and Carpenter Road in Stockton early Saturday morning.
 
The fatal accident happened around 4:58 a.m. on August 10. According to the Stockton Police Department, the victim was riding a bicycle when they were struck by a vehicle.
 
The impact caused the bicyclist fatal injuries and they died at the scene. Their identity was not immediately available.
 
It was unclear if the driver of the vehicle stayed after the crash. It was also unknown if drugs or alcohol was a factor.
 
The circumstances of the fatality are still under investigation.
