Austin Ly Killed in Motorcycle Accident on Tulare Avenue [Fresno, CA]

16-Year-Old Motorcyclist Dies after Crash with Vehicle at Tulare and Fowler Avenues

 
FRESNO, CA (September 15, 2024) – Austin Ly was killed in a motorcycle accident in Fresno Tuesday afternoon on September 10.
 
The fatal crash happened around 4:00 p.m. at the intersection of Tulare Avenue and Fowler Avenue, not far from Fancher Creek Elementary School. According to the Fresno Police Department, Ly was riding his motorcycle southbound on Fowler when he ran a red light.
 
At the same time, the driver of another vehicle was turning onto Fowler and collided with Ly.
 
Responding paramedics rushed Ly to a local hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
 
Ly was a 16-year-old student of Clovis East High School.
 
Meanwhile, the driver of the other vehicle involved remained at the scene and cooperated with officers.
 
Investigators are still working to figure out how fast the motorcycle was going, or if Ly was wearing a helmet.
