At Least 1 Hurt in Wrong-Way Crash on 14 Freeway in Santa Clarita
SANTA CLARITA, CA (July 18, 2023) — At least one person was injured in a wrong-way accident on the 14 Freeway near Soledad Canyon Road.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the two-vehicle crash happened around 8:30 p.m. Sunday. For an unknown reason, a driver was heading in the wrong direction for an unknown duration of time. Moments later, authorities received word of a wrong-way crash that occurred in the lane nearest to the center divider. Upon responding, authorities found a dark-colored four-door car and a silver van that crashed.
Paramedics brought one person to a nearby hospital as crews canvased the scene to investigate the leading cause of the crash.
Authorities do not have additional information on what drove the accident but are looking into the factors that could have played a role.
