At Least 1 Hurt in Head-On Crash on Highway 299 in Redding

 
REDDING, CA (August 12, 2024) — At least one person was injured in a head-on accident on Highway 299 near Highway 101.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the two-car crash happened around 9:26 a.m. Friday. For an unknown reason, a Dodge Challenger and a Mercedes Sprinter van collided head-on. Subsequently, Emergency Services arrived at the scene and assisted at least one injured person.
 
Both cars sustained major front-end damage and Buddy’s Towing responded to assist the damaged vehicles.
 
Due to the crash, the ramp to the southbound 101 Freeway remained closed as crews worked to clear and investigate the scene.
