Arthur Schoenstadt Dies in Suspected DUI Head-On Crash on Reservation Road near Garrison Drive

MONTEREY COUNTY, CA (October 7, 2024) Arthur Schoenstadt died in a DUI head-on accident on Reservation Road near Garrison Drive Sunday.

The California Highway Patrol responded to a report about two vehicles crashing around 5:05 p.m. Upon dispatch, authorities learned that a northbound gray Toyota collided with a southbound white Acura that entered the northbound lanes.

Tragically, the sole occupant of the Toyota — 81-year-old Arthur Loring Schoenstadt, of Salinas — passed away in the collision. The Acura driver sought care at Natividad Medical Center for unknown injuries.

After the investigation, authorities determined DUI factored into the collision. Therefore, once the Acura driver leaves the hospital, officers plan to book the individual into Monterey County Jail for DUI.

Our sincere sympathies are with the family and friends of Arthur Loring Schoenstadt.
