Anthony Tapia Dies in Hit-and-Run Pedestrian Crash on 7th Street near St Louis Avenue

 
LONG BEACH, CA (August 19, 2024) — Anthony Tapia died in a hit-and-run pedestrian accident on 7th Street near St Louis Avenue.
 
According to the Long Beach Police Department, the fatal hit-and-run happened around 9:25 p.m. on August 3. For an unknown reason, a driver struck 48-year-old Tapia, a homeless person, while heading westbound on 7th Street. Instead of stopping, the motorist left, leaving Tapia with serious injuries.
 
Following the crash, paramedics took Tapia to a hospital. However, he passed away Friday, nearly two weeks after the accident.
