Police Arrest 21-Year-Old Man for DUI after Crashing into Residence near Caulfield Lane in Petaluma

 
PETALUMA, CA (July 14, 2024) – Angel Alegria-Vasquez was arrested in a DUI crash in Petaluma Thursday evening on July 11.
 
The crash happened around 7:53 p.m. near the intersection of Caulfield Lane and South McDowell Boulevard. According to the Petaluma Police Department, the 21-year-old suspect from Petaluma was driving a red Ford Mustang when he collided with the side of a residence.
 
As a result of the crash, the Mustang and the exterior of the residence suffered substantial damage.
 
The resident of the home was present when the crash occurred but was unharmed.
 
The crash also damaged nearby electrical boxes, which knocked out power to nearby stoplights.
 
First responders located Alegria-Vasquez in the car. They took him to a local hospital for treatment of his injuries sustained in the crash.

An alcohol was also found inside the car.

After being released from the hospital, police arrested Alegria-Vasquez on suspicion of driving under the influence.

An investigation is underway.
