Ana Hollins-Esquivel Fatally Injured in Two-Car Crash on 10 Freeway near Washington Street

 
PALM DESERT, CA (November 9, 2022) — A 22-year-old woman identified as Ana Maria Hollins-Esquivel of Indio died in a two-vehicle crash.
 
According to California Highway Patrol, at around 3:20 a.m. on Tuesday, November 8, Hollis-Esquivel lost control of her Ford Escape. Then she hit the rear of a Honda Accord while moving eastbound on 10 Freeway, near Washington Street.
 
Reports said Hollins-Esquivel continued moving in a southeast direction. After that, her vehicle crashed with some tamarisk trees and flipped on its side.
 
Authorities responded to the scene and found her dead inside the vehicle. She wasn’t wearing a seatbelt.
 
Additionally, they found the Honda unoccupied on the right shoulder.
 
Officials said they are still determining if drugs or alcohol contributed to the crash.
