Boat Capsizes near Bodega Bay Killing One and Sending Four Others to Hospital

 
SONOMA COUNTY, CA (November 19, 2024) – Alonzo Ocaranza was killed after a boat capsized near Bodega Bay in Sonoma County Monday afternoon on November 18.
 
According to the Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office, they received a call about boaters in distress near Salmon Creek around 1:45 p.m. A vessel, named Achelous, capsized with five people aboard at North Salmon Creek Beach.
 
Ocaranza died in the accident. He was 69 years old of Turlock.
 
Four of the boaters survived and were taken to a hospital with unspecified injuries.
 
Further information was not immediately available. The accident remains under investigation.
