Alexis Samaniego Killed in Two-Vehicle Accident on Blanco Road [Marina, CA]

20-Year-Old Man Dies after Crashing into Utility Truck in Marina

 
MARINA, CA (November 11, 2024) – Alexis Sierra Samaniego died in a two-vehicle accident in Marina Friday morning on November 8.
 
The fatal accident happened on Blanco Road at Research Drive. According to the California Highway Patrol, Samaniego was driving an Infiniti Jeep 35 westbound on Blanco Road at an extremely high rate of speed when he veered off the roadway.
 
The Infiniti then collided with a parked utility truck on Research Drive.
 
Officers said the utility truck driver was working on the pole at the time in a cherry picker when the Infiniti crashed into them.
 
Samaniego was pronounced dead on the scene. He was a 20-year-old Salinas resident.
 
The work truck driver was taken to a local hospital with major injuries.
 
The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
