63-Year-Old Man Dies after Struck by Car in Rosamond
ROSAMOND, CA (September 23, 2024) – Abelardo Hermitano Mendez Sosa was killed in a pedestrian accident in Rosamond early Sunday morning on September 22.
The fatal accident happened around 3:31 a.m. on West Rosamond Boulevard, just east of 50th Street West. According to the California Highway Patrol, Erin Goodman of Lancaster was driving a 2018 Ford Fusion eastbound when she struck Sosa who was walking in the eastbound lane of Rosamond Boulevard.
Sosa suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. He was 63 years old, according to the Kern County Sheriff’s Office.
Meanwhile, Goodman stayed on scene and cooperated with authorities. She was determined not to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs at the time of the crash.
