Elder Dies in Calexico Pedestrian Crash at Herber Avenue

 
CALEXICO, CA (September 11, 2024) — An 88-year-old man died in a pedestrian accident at Herber Avenue and 3rd Street.
 
According to Calexico Police, the pedestrian accident happened Sunday. Under unclear circumstances, a driver struck the 88-year-old Calexico man as the elder crossed the intersection.
 
Subsequently, paramedics responded and rushed him to a hospital where he died. Officials have not released his name.
 
After the crash, the driver stayed and cooperated with investigators. He was not cited.
