Richard Ebert Hurt, Timothy Drury Arrested in Hit-and-Run Pedestrian Crash on Leveroni Road near Fryer Creek Drive
SONOMA, CA (November 20, 2024) — Richard Ebert suffered serious injuries in a hit-and-run pedestrian accident on Leveroni Road near Fryer Creek Drive.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the hit-and-run happened around 9:00 p.m. Friday. For an unknown reason, a driver of a silver Volkswagen Tiguan struck 87-year-old Ebert just outside of the Sonoma city limits.
The driver, however, left the scene without calling local authorities.
Sometime later, the driver, 63-year-old Timothy Drury, turned himself into the Sonoma Police Department around 10:30 p.m. Authorities did not believe drugs or alcohol factored into the crash. However, they determined that Ebert, who has dementia, had likely wandered off into the night before being hit. At this time, he remains hospitalized at Queen of the Valley Hospital in Napa with major injuries including a broken hip, femur and ribs.
If anyone has more information, contact local authorities.
