Elderly Pedestrian in Motorized Wheelchair Dies after Struck by Audi on East Stockton Boulevard in Sacramento
SACRAMENTO, CA, (February 2, 2025) – An 81-year-old man in a motorized wheelchair was killed after being struck by a car at East Stockton Boulevard and Power Inn Road in Sacramento on Saturday morning.
The fatal crash happened around 7:48 a.m. on February 1. According to the California Highway Patrol, the elderly man in the black wheelchair was crossing northbound at the intersection. At the same time, a 60-year-old woman driving a 2012 Audi was turning left into Stockton Boulevard from Power Inn Road.
The Audi then struck the man, causing him fatal injuries.
First responders found the pedestrian suffering a laceration to his head and hand. They attempted saving him but he died at the scene.
The identity of the victim was withheld at this time.
It was unknown if drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash. Further investigation is underway.
