Leonidas Chester Killed in ATV Accident on 48 USFS Road near Mad River Road

TRINITY COUNTY, CA (December 4, 2024) — Leonidas Chester died in an ATV crash on 48 USFS Road near Mad River Road.

According to the California Highway Patrol Redding Communications Center, the deadly ATV crash happened around 4:00 p.m. on November 28. A caller, believed to be the deceased victim’s wife, reported the incident. Upon dispatch, medical personnel arrived but 71-year-old Chester passed away in the accident.

CHP Trinity River has yet to identify the leading cause of the accident, but an investigation is underway.
