Woman Killed in Pedestrian Crash at Russell Avenue in Santa Maria
SANTA MARIA, CA (January 6, 2025) — A 58-year-old woman died in a pedestrian accident at Russell Avenue and Main Street.
According to the Santa Maria Police Department, the fatal pedestrian crash happened around 6:00 p.m. Saturday. For an unknown reason, a driver struck a female pedestrian on the eastbound lanes of Main Street. Subsequently, Santa Maria Police and First Responders arrived, finding the victim lying on the road.
Paramedics transported her to Marian Regional Medical Center where she passed away from her injuries. The driver of the car stayed on site and cooperated with police investigators.
Detectives ruled out drugs and alcohol as contributing factors to this crash.
At this time, officials have not released the woman’s name pending notification of next of kin. If anyone has more information, contact local authorities.
