Pedestrian Suffers Major Injuries after Struck by Hit-and-Run Driver on Road 28 in Madera
MADERA, CA (January 7, 2025) – A 67-year-old man was seriously injured in a hit-and-run crash on Road 28 in Madera late Monday afternoon on January 6.
The crash happened around 5:45 p.m. near Ellis Street. According to the California Highway Patrol, the male pedestrian from Madera was walking down Road 28 when he was hit by an errant white truck that was heading north.
After hitting the pedestrian, the driver of the truck fled the scene without rendering aid.
First responders found the victim lying in the roadway with major injuries.
The man was airlifted to Community Regional Medical Center in Fresno in an unknown condition.
At this time, the truck was not yet located and the hit-and-run suspect remains at large.
An investigation is ongoing.
