King Holguin, 6, Killed in San Jose Pedestrian Accident on Highway 280 near Leland Avenue
SAN JOSE, CA (December 17, 2024) — King Holguin, a 6-year-old boy, died after a driver struck him on Highway 280 near Leland Avenue.
According to the Santa Clara County Medical Examiner, King Holguin passed away shortly after the Friday night accident. Around 11:00 p.m., King somehow left his family’s apartment and ran onto Interstate 28. Subsequently, he was hit by an oncoming 2024 Nissan Altima, driven by a 36-year-old San Jose man.
California Highway Patrol officers responded to the report and found the 6-year-old with major injuries. Paramedics took him to a local hospital where he passed away.
Authorities did not say if the driver was injured in the accident.
According to family members, King was autistic and struggled with understanding the concept of traffic. They have a GoFundMe page to garner help to give him the funeral he deserves.
