Pedestrian Dies after Struck by Car on Green Valley Road in Watsonville
WATSONVILLE, CA (November 20, 2024) – A 53-year-old woman was hit and killed by a car on Green Valley Road in Watsonville Tuesday morning on November 19.
The fatal crash happened around 6:30 a.m. at Amesti Road. According to the California Highway Patrol, the female pedestrian was walking in the area when a gray 2006 Toyota Camry traveling southbound on Green Valley Road struck her.
The impact caused the woman major injuries. First responders tried saving her, but she was pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities only identified the victim as a Royal Oaks resident.
The driver of the Camry, a 35-year-old man from Freedom, stayed on scene and cooperated with authorities.
Drugs and alcohol are not believed factors in the crash. The exact cause is still under investigation.
