Child Falls Out of SUV, Fatally Run Over in Gym Parking Lot on Castleton Street

 
CITY OF INDUSTRY, CA (September 25, 2024) – A 5-year-old boy was hit and killed by a vehicle on Castleton Street in the city of Industry on Friday night.
 
The fatal crash happened around 6:18 p.m. on September 20, in the parking lot of UFC Gym at 17638 Castle Street. According to the California Highway Patrol, the boy was sitting in the back of an SUV and was not in a car seat when one of the car’s doors opened. He then fell from the car, driven by his mother.
 
After falling, an unknown vehicle ran over him.
 
The boy was then rushed by paramedics to a hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries. His identity was not immediately available.
 
It was unclear how the door got opened. There was also another boy riding in the SUV at the time, officials said.
 
The mother was not arrested at this time.

An investigation into this fatality is underway.
