5 People Hurt in Chula Vista DUI Crash on H Street

 
CHULA VISTA, CA (July 8, 2021) — Five people were injured in a DUI accident on H Street near Paseo Del Rey Tuesday morning.
 
According to the Chula Vista Police, the multi-car crash happened around 11:00 am. For DUI-related reasons, a 20-year-old man crashed into six vehicles, causing his BMW SUV to catch on fire. Per reports, he had tried to navigate around several vehicles stopped at a red traffic light right before the impact.
 
As a result, he and four others suffered non-life-threatening injuries. Paramedics arrived at the scene shortly after to free a 55-year-old woman from her vehicle. Meanwhile, police officers tried dousing the fire with a fire extinguisher.
