5 Hospitalized After Los Angeles Police Pursuit Results in 2-Vehicle Crash on Spring Street

 
LOS ANGELES, CA (September 3, 2024) — Five people were injured after a police chase ended in a 2-car accident on Spring Street near Elmyra Street.
 
According to the Los Angeles Fire Department, the two-car collision happened at 4:52 p.m. Saturday. Before the crash, officers tried chasing a gray BMW after learning the driver had a gun. The chase started at Soto Street and Michigan Avenue. However, it ended in Chinatown, when the BMW plowed into a car, sending the innocent vehicle into a wall.
 
Minutes later, paramedics attended to five patients, all in fair to moderate shape. Reports described the victims as a 40-year-old woman, two 18-year-old men, a 17-year-old boy and a 16-year-old boy. However, reports did not clarify which of the patients were in the BMW.
