RICHMOND, CA (September 3, 2024) — Three people were injured in a wrong-way fiery accident on the 80 Freeway near El Portal Drive Friday night.
According to the Contra Costa County Sheriff’s Office, the multi-car collision happened around 10:00 p.m. Deputies spotted a stolen Hummer and attempted to make a traffic stop. However, the Hummer driver refused and fled in the wrong direction, goading sheriff’s officials to abandon the pursuit.
