2 Hurt After Semi-Truck, Pickup Crash on Highway 44 in Shasta County

 
SHASTA COUNTY, CA (May 22, 2024) — Two people were injured in a semi-truck accident on Highway 44 near Eskimo Hill.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the two-vehicle crash happened around 8:00 a.m. on May 20. Under unclear circumstances, a Chevrolet S10 pickup and a semi-truck collided. Subsequently, CHP officers and emergency personnel arrived and learned that both vehicles crashed head-on, causing the big rig to overturn.
 
Upon responding, paramedics confirmed two injuries: the driver and passenger of the semi-truck. However, reports did not say whether the paramedics transported them to a hospital for minor to moderate injuries.
 
Due to the collision, police closed Highway 44 and reopened it around 10:00 a.m.
