2 Hurt After Car Crashes Into Power Pole in Thousand Palms

 
THOUSAND PALMS, CA (May 21, 2024) — Two people suffered serious injuries when a car crashed into a power pole near Thousand Palms on Wednesday.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the single-car crash happened around 1:40 p.m. Wednesday. For an unknown reason, an adult driver lost control of a gray Chevrolet SUV. Subsequently, the car spun out and struck a power pole.
 
Soon after, paramedics responded and found the driver with major injuries and one male juvenile in the car with a cut on his leg. Fortunately, a woman and a juvenile girl inside the vehicle reported no injuries.
 
Due to the crash, Southern California Edison responded to evaluate whether the power pole needed to come down. Further details on this crash weren’t available. However, if anyone has additional insight, please call the CHP.
