Driver Loses Control and Crashes into Food Trailer on 5 Freeway near Louise Avenue in Lathrop

LATHROP, CA (February 27, 2025) – Two people sustained injuries after a car crashed into a food trailer on 5 Freeway, late Monday evening.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident happened on February 24, at about 11:50 p.m. For reasons still under investigation, a northbound Mazda veered east near Louise Avenue.

Then, the vehicle crashed through a perimeter fence and hit a parked food vendor trailer in the Lathrop Food Plaza. The impact of the crash pushed the trailer into two more food vendor trailers.

As per reports, the 24-year-old driver and a 23-year-old passenger suffered minor injuries in the collision. It is unknown if they needed hospitalization.

The food vendor, Nana Bear’s Mini Donuts, announced temporary closure and are currently taking orders online.
