2 Girls Hit and Injured in Pedestrian Accident on First Street in Atwater
ATWATER, CA (March 3, 2023) — Two girls suffered moderate injuries in a pedestrian accident on First Street and Fortuna Avenue.
According to Atwater police officers, the pedestrian accident happened around 7:00 p.m. Wednesday. Under unclear circumstances, a driver struck two Atwater residents, described as young girls crossing First Street.
Shortly after, First Responders arrived and brought the victims to Valley Children’s Hospital with minor to moderate non-life-threatening injuries. Meanwhile, the driver stayed at the scene for the investigation.
Officers have not released information on if the driver saw the pedestrians before the crash and if the pedestrians were in a crosswalk at the time of the impact. However, authorities do not suspect alcohol to have played a role.
