2 People Killed in Wrong-Way Crash on Highway 152 in Merced County

 
MERCED COUNTY, CA (September 30, 2024) — Two people died in a wrong-way accident on Highway 152 near Los Banos.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol Los Banos office, the deadly wrong-way accident happened Friday afternoon. For an unknown reason, a person was driving eastbound in the westbound lanes of Highway 152 outside of Los Banos. Subsequently, the wrong-way car sideswiped a vehicle before crashing head-on into a full-sized SUV.
 
Due to the collision, both vehicles ruptured into flames, killing both drivers involved in the wreck.
 
At this time, traffic investigators have not identified the leading factors or released the victims’ names. If anyone wants to help traffic investigators, call the CHP.
