2 Killed, 2 Hurt in Suspected DUI 2-Car Crash at Beach Street in San Luis Obispo
SAN LUIS OBISPO, CA (May 20, 2024) — Two men died in a suspected DUI 2-car accident at Beach Street and Pismo Street.
According to the San Luis Obispo Police Department the fatal accident happened around 9:30 p.m. Wednesday. For possible DUI reasons, a driver speeding on Beach Street did not stop at the Pismo Street stop sign. Subsequently, the speeding vehicle struck a second car heading westbound on Pismo street.
Due to the impact, the speeding vehicle overturned several times and ejected the driver and one of his male passengers.
Minutes later, paramedics arrived and took the ejected occupants to a hospital where they passed away. Officials did not release their identities.
Another male occupant who was, however, wearing a seatbelt reported minor injuries. As for the woman in the second car, paramedics took her to a hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.
