Teen Pedestrian Christian Soriano Struck, Killed by Semi-Truck on 15 Freeway in San Diego

 
SAN DIEGO, CA (April 21, 2022) — A teen pedestrian was hit and killed by a big rig on 15 Freeway near Carroll Canyon Road on Sunday.
 
Officials identified the victim as 19-year-old San Diego resident Christian Soriano, according to the San Diego County Medical Examiner’s Office.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident occurred around 5:35 a.m. Soriano was seen on the shoulder of the northbound freeway when he stepped into traffic for unknown reasons, according to the medical examiner’s office. As a result, Soriano got hit by a semi-truck driving “at freeway speed” on 15 Freeway.
 
The driver pulled over and called 911.
 
However, Soriano suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene.
 
At this time, CHP officers have not confirmed the reason why Soriano stepped into oncoming traffic. However, an ongoing investigation should confirm any unclear details.
