Teen Driver Dies after Crashing into Residential Property on West Hemlock Street in Port Hueneme

 
PORT HUENEME, CA (January 19, 2025) – An 18-year-old man died in a car accident on West Hemlock Street in Port Hueneme early Saturday morning on January 18.
 
The crash happened just before 12:30 a.m. in a residential area east of Patterson Road along the north edge of city limits. According to the Port Hueneme Police Department, the teen driver from Oxnard was driving at high speeds when he veered off the roadway onto a residential property. His car then struck a tree in the 200 block of West Hemlock Street.
 
The driver was the only occupant of the car. He suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene. His name was not immediately available.
 
A person inside the residence was hit by debris from the crash and was treated at the scene for minor injuries.

It was unknown if drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash. Further investigation is underway.
