Cheyenne Exum Dies in Pedestrian Accident in Red Bluff
RED BLUFF, CA (April 7, 2022) — 16-year-old Cheyenne Exum died in a pedestrian accident on Kimball Road near Jackson Street on March 30.
According to the Tehama County coroner’s office, Exum died in a reported pedestrian accident. For unknown reasons, the Red Bluff girl was lying in the roadway when an oncoming vehicle, driven by 18-year-old Isabella Helmericks, ran over her.
As a result of a crash, Exum suffered serious injuries, prompting First Responders to rush her to St. Elizabeth Community Hospital.
However, despite having received life-saving efforts, Exum succumbed to her injuries.
At this time, officers have ruled out DUI as a possible source of the accident on the driver’s part.
However, an ongoing investigation as to why Exum had been lying on the road should confirm any outstanding details. Anyone who has more information should call the Red Bluff Police Department at 530-527-3131.
Our deepest sympathies go out to the family and friends of Cheyenne Exum.
