Teen Passenger Suffers Major Injuries after Car Crashes into Tree on Hunte Parkway in Chula Vista

 
CHULA VISTA, CA (May 30, 2024) – A 16-year-old boy was badly injured in a car accident at Hunte Parkway and Exploration Falls Drive in Chula Vista on Wednesday morning.
 
The accident happened around 7:30 a.m. on May 29. According to the Chula Vista Police Department, a juvenile driver and 16-year-old boy were in a Ford pickup truck that was traveling westbound in the 1800 block of Hunte Parkway.
 
For unknown reasons, the pickup truck went off the roadway. It then collided into a tree and hit a fire hydrant.
 
When first responders arrived, the driver had already pulled the injured passenger out of the pickup truck.
 
Paramedics then took the teen passenger to a hospital with severe injuries.
 
The driver stayed on scene and cooperated with officers.
